At Newton Tony Primary CE VC school, we value every child and enjoy celebrating every step of progress made. Our children with identified Special Educational Needs or a disability are closely monitored and supported. Due to our small class sizes, we can provide every child with quality tailored provision. We believe that children should ‘keep up’ rather than have to ‘catch up’ , so we introduce interventions in Year One and Year Two. Miss Priestley (Head Teacher) is our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Lead. She works with our teaching staff and Teaching Assistants to help identify children who may have a additional needs and ensure that we support them throughout the school. Please email email@example.com to contact Miss Priestley or phone 01980 629232.
Our current afternoon intervention programmes are ‘Little Wandle Rapid Catch Up’ (focus on phonics and reading) and SNIP ( a spelling programme designed by dyslexic tutors). For more information click on the links below:

Emotional Learning Support
We have highly trained teaching and support staff who work as a team to support the needs of all children. Mrs Sullivan is our qualified Emotional Support Assistant (ELSA), and children/families have the opportunity to access emotional support and counselling four afternoons a week.
Behaviour Support Team
We work closely with Wiltshire LA Behaviour Support Team to gain valuable advice and practical strategies to support children who have behavioural/emotional additional needs.
