Key Line of Enquiry Curriculum – the big questions !
Our Key Line of Enquiry approach encourages children to revisit and link learning. Each term we share an enquiry question which promotes an integrated curriculum. We encourage critical thinking, communication, collaboration and creativity in our curriculum. Every week, we also explore a question form picture news linked to global awareness. Our children experience a variety of enrichment opportunities across the curriculum. You are welcome to come and look at our year group enquiry books.
Hedgehogs and Foxes
During enhanced provision, Hedgehogs class (Reception Year), follow child led interests and celebrate the world around them. They also discuss their own termly key lines of enquiry. Foxes Class (Year 1 and Year 2) follow the same lines of enquiry as Hedgehogs class, ensuring children have opportunities to re-visit and broaden their understanding. Squirrels class and Badgers
Year 3 -6 all share a key line of enquiry each term. We have two cycles (A and B) which incorporate a rolling two year mixed age planning approach. Our curriculum incorporates the subjects from the National Curriculum alongside our learning about the world outside the classroom.
Our aim is that each child leaves our school equipped for lifelong learning remembering it with happiness. Find out what is happening in your child’s class and across the school in our ‘Curriculum News’ section
