The Internet is a global network of billions of computers and other electronic devices. It is possible to access almost any information in the world.   You can do all of this by connecting a computer/tablet or phone to the Internet, which is also called going online.

Accessing the Internet to learn about the world we live in is exciting but ALWAYS STAY SAFE ONLINE.

SAFE : Keep all your personal information safe. DO NOT share your details online.

MEETING : NEVER plan to meet up with someone you meet online.

ACCEPTING : Opening messages from people you don’t know can be dangerous.  They may contain viruses or inappropriate photos.

RELIABLE : Adults can lie online and pretend to be a child. Information you find on the internet can also be wrong so always check with an adult.  Look in books and ask an adult you know.

TELL : Tell a trusted adult at home or school if you find something online that makes you feel worried or uncomfortable.  If you or someone you know is being bullied – tell someone as soon as you can.

If you are worried about your own or your friends online safety, tell your parents, carers, teachers or another adult you trust. They can help you report your concerns by by clicking on the following link.  www.ceop.police.uk/safety-centre
