Proposed changes to the timings of the school day
Thank you for all your responses to the recent draft proposals for changing the timings of the school day to support the increase of traffic at pick up and drop off time. Many other schools are facing similar problems with parking and we are not alone in having to address this issue. We know that we cannot just ignore the issue and as the school grows in popularity we need to be flexible and proactive in our response. No solution will be perfect but we need to work together to improve the school traffic and ensure our children are safe.
The following proposal will be trialled from 13th May until 24th May 2019, with a view to analysing if the changes have made a sustainable difference to improving the school traffic. If the trial is successful then we will continue the changes until the end of the Summer Term. Any official change to school day has to be agreed by the Governing Body before September 2019.
Draft drop up proposals: –
8.30am Badgers and Squirrels class to start arriving at school
8.40am Badgers and Squirrels class start their school day
Gates will be closed at 8.40am This will give us a clear 10 minute session for cars to leave and provide more spaces in the carpark to be utilised. If you have children in different classes, these children can be dropped off with the older siblings in the Atrium, supervised by Mrs Talbot-King.
8.50am Hedgehogs class to start arriving at school
Draft pick up proposals: –
3.05pm Badgers and Squirrels class finish the school day
3.15pm Hedgehogs class finish the school day
Allowing a clear 10 minute session for cars to leave and provide more spaces in the carpark.
Taxis will not be effected by these changes and timings will stay the same. Please contact me if the new earlier finish times effects your working day. We will continue to accommodate the needs of our parents by looking after children until 3.15pm.
